Lighting Channel 4 studios at the Summer Games

Channel 4 Televisions’ successful bid to show the Paras reportedly created shock and dismay at the Beeb, as the edgy broadcaster out-manoeuvred BBC echelons to snap up the rights to one of the most significant sporting events of the century. The International Broadcast Centre (IBC) was a familiar sight after my work  there earlier in the summer, but [...]

Me

I specialise in ecological light engineering, with a soft focus on environmentally sustainable design. Using proven and cutting-edge technologies I aim to create energy efficient lighting, audio and visual installations - reducing materials, power consumption and waste to sustainable levels - without sacrificing the sensory impact of the design.

My background is mostly technical and I have a great interest in re-using and recycling existing products to build custom lighting devices and intuitive control systems. I've spent many years on the workbench repairing moving head and static luminaries, smoke and effect machines, stroboscopes, cycloramas, and have previously managed a service centre.

I freelance for firms building studio sets, residential AV and festival installations and program TV studios, nightclubs, art installations and live events.
